Nothing has been on my radar since it first made Ear (1). Their mission to “make tech fun again” intrigued me. Since then they have survived the tech market. And 15 hours ago they released a video titled ‘Introducing Ear (open) and OS 3.0’
And so, because I haven’t posted in about 3 weeks, I thought I would share my thoughts and impressions on these new hardware and software products.
At the beginning of the video, Carl meets with 2 other staff members[who are unnamed in video] to talk about Ear (open). They talk about their custom patent pending diaphragm coated in titanium.

The team then talks about how, to combat the sound leakage that comes with an open design, placed an outward facing speaker that plays inverse sound, cancelling both sounds out when they meet. They have also mentioned[and unlike Google didn’t spend the whole time talking about thank goodness]how they used 28 million sound situations to train an AI model to make voices clearer through the buds. Despite all the tech they seemed to have crammed in, these earbuds weigh just 8.1 grams. Austin Evans in his latest YouTube short said these had very nice, warm Sound quality and for the price of $216AUD was a nice deal. I will possibly post about OS 3 next week
